Electronic Dissertations: Submission

This guide will assist you with copyright issues, preparing your manuscript for publication, and submitting your document to ProQuest for publication.

Submitting Your Thesis

Preparation

Submission should take less than an hour to complete. Use the help icon onscreen or contact etdsupport@proquest.com for assistance. Following is a list of what you will need to do or information you will need to have ready:

  • Publishing restrictions
  • Contact information
  • Dissertation Thesis details
    • Title
    • Abstract
    • Year manuscript completed
    • Year degree awarded
    • Degree awarded
    • Department
    • Advisor Committee Chair
    • Committee members
    • ProQuest Subject Categories (see manuscript tab)
  • PDF with fonts embedded
  • Supplemental files (optional)
  • Any notes you want to send to librarian about your thesis
  • Copyright decisions
  • Number of print copies you wish to order
  • Credit card information (if you are publishing open access, or ordering print copies)

Here are the steps to submission 

1. Save a COPY of your document as a pdf with embedded fonts. (See Manuscript tab for embedding fonts)

2. Create your student account on the ProQuest site. https://www.etdadmin.com/pqdirect

  • Click on Log In
  • Select Student
  • Create your Password
  • Receive verification email

3. Log in

4. Follow the prompts and instructions onscreen.

5. After you submit, you will receive an email confirming that your submission was completed.
