Concept Map

Concept Mapping is a way of VISUALLY REPRESENTING knowledge in a way that shows RELATIONSHIPS between concepts.

Concept Mapping can be a great tool for....

1. Organizing your thoughts

2. Clarifying what you do and don't know about a topic

3. Planning a paper or presentation

Outlining

Taking time to create an outline for a paper at the start can save you time in the long run. Outlining is a way of creating a plan for a research paper. As a "plan", your outline organizes your thoughts on your topic into main and sub ideas. Outlining can help you think about the ideal way to structure your argument and prevent you from writing yourself into dead ends or other writing pitfalls.
